May 2157: TRIGO TEAM ENDS!! It were long sucessful years of fighting. However, with the owner's new project - Trigo Top Team - Trigo Team was announced its end, that finally happened today. In beetwen, 960 wins and 90 titles (of those, 5 Strikefest, 12 WCA LHW and 13 RR MW). Mythical fighters: Sammy Hughes, Georges Lacroix, Mike Collins, Ian Robinson, Hank Elkins, Alik Besthuzev, Roger Phillips, Stan Hughes and Ronald Patterson. We thank ALL of the fighters who represented our camp. Well miss i
May 2157: The end of Trigo Team. After Zack Scott left the Academy, Kichiro, the last fighter, decided to retire too. After 3 losses in A-1, and with a poor 17-14 record, Kichiro decided to hang his gloves, 9 years after his 1st fight. It is said that Camp owner Trigo talked to Kichiro about an early retirement so that the camp could close. All efforts will be now pointed to Trigo Top Team.
May 2156: And it's true. Kichiro, at 34, is the youngest. Chavito, the oldest, with 39, showed his will of hanging his gloves in the short term, so its probable that the end of the camp may come in the next couple of years. It was a delightful experience that Trigo Top Team is now using, and, like it or not, everyone will miss this camp.
May 2156: Two years after George Lacroix, the last Academy idol, retired, the camp is still in activity. We managed to talk to Trigo who explained us all: "Our new camp, Trigo Top Team, is going great, overcoming all of our expectations. However, we'll never forget Trigo Team. The camp is still working cause the fighters set to reach the clubs 1000 win, but we're still missing 34 and Kichiro, with 34, being the youngest fighter doesnt make that objective true, but we respect it."
Aug 2154: The last of our best retired. At 34 and 12 years after his 1st MMA pro fight, Lacroix hanged his gloves. Amazing fighter, he was the 1st STRIKEFEST Academy champion and still the only one to dispute an EFC belt. He holds 3 STRIKEFEST titles and a 43-33 record. He gets into Academys Records for being the best ranked fighter ever, in #61, overcoming Hank Elkins (#108) and being the first fighter to reach the top #100. Lacroix's retirement points to the end of the Academy.
what up trigo... just won delr lw title... highest rank #107 (should go up with the win)... 0.25 pop from strike/glory and should be in line for a title shot there too... first guy with potential to reach efc
The last of our great and old school fighters retired. At the age of 39, and 14 years after his first fight, Isamu hanged his gloves. He breaks no records (although he has the same amount of wins as Alik, 67), and only 2 titles (WVA and UFL). On the other hand, he is one of the few EFC vets of our Academy, and one of our most popular fighters. "At 39 i thought it was time to let someone else take my place, but knowing that the Academy was closing didnt help too."
ACADEMY RECORDS - MORE FIGHTS: 130, by Alik Bestuzhev MORE TITLES: 18, by Hanks Elkins MORE TITLES IN 1 ORG: 10 WCA, by Tyler Jodoin MORE WINS: 67, by Alik Bestuzhev BEST FIGHTER(rank): #108, by Hank Elkins
By mistake we didnt noticed that Alik broke another record for the Academy: Fighter with more wins (67), beating Roger Phillips, who had 56. Impressive career, breaking 3 of the Academy Records.
"Trigo Team was a great project. As my first experience in MMA world, i think it was a huge sucess. But now its time to look ahead and focus on Trigo Top Team, our new Academy. Id like to thanks everyone, specially the Academys Co-owners and Co-founders Sammy Hughes, Tank Moore, Alik Besthuzev, Ronald Patterson, Roger Phillips and Travis Evans for all their dedication along these 20 years. I would also like to thanks Ian Robinson and Hank Elkins for what they did for this Academy."
SHOCKING NEWS!!! After the last of the co-owners and co-founder of Trigo Team, Ronald Patterson, retired, they all got together with manager Pedro Trigo and unanimously decided that Trigo Team will end. The reason behind this decision was the lack of funds for the Academy, as well as Trigos new Project, Trigo Top Team, in Las Vegas. The current fighters will have the chance to end their career here, but the Academy wont admit new fighters.
ACADEMY RECORDS - MORE FIGHTS: 130, by Alik Bestuzhev MORE TITLES: 18, by Hanks Elkins MORE TITLES IN 1 ORG: 10 WCA, by Tyler Jodoin MORE WINS: 56, by Roger Phillips BEST FIGHTER(rank): #108, by Hank Elkins
Hank Elkins retired. In his words, "having seen I wasnt reaching the top in MMA, there was no reason for me to be here". Although The One (his nickname was from the fact that he ended all his first fights in Rd.1, something that got lost along the way) never reached the levels of charisma of Sammy Hughes or Ian Robinson, he battled a lot. The result? The best ranked fighter of the Academy ever (#108)and the fighter with more titles (18). A underachieved, yet remarkable fighter. Thank you Hank!
ACADEMY RECORDS - MORE FIGHTS: 130, by Alik Bestuzhev MORE TITLES: 11, by Tyler Jodoin MORE TITLES IN 1 ORG: 10 WCA, by Tyler Jodoin MORE WINS: 56, by Roger Phillips BEST FIGHTER(rank): #160, by Ian Robinson
The last of the co-founders and co-owners of Trigo Team retired.
It was 15 (!) years fighting (2133-2148). Ronald was the JJ head coach. He ended his career at the age of 44 (!!!). In beetwen, besides teaching everyone in the camp, Ronald had a fight rec of 69-58, maikng a total of 127 fights.
A fighter that was know for his will, being one of the lightest LW ever, with 151 pd.!
Being the last team founder to retire, this may bring some news with it. Mythical camp fighter, we just love him.
PEDRO TRIGO OPENED A NEW ACADEMY!!!! Trigo Team Academy was Trigos 1st Academy and turned out well. Based in San Jose, CA, Trigo Team made a very good debut in the world of MMA. Therefore, and to be closer to the biggetst Academies and competitions, Trigo opened his 2nd Academy in Las Vegas, NV. Check it out!
Amazing career. 15 years after his 1st fight(!) and at the age of 42, Alik Besthuzev retires. Alik is a Co-owner and Co-founder and he is the head coach for Sambo.
He also wins the record for fighter with more fights (130!), and, having a #482 rank, earns himself a spot in the top 5 fighters of the Academy. A very good trainer and an icon of our Academy. He will now follow our fights outside the cage!

Shocking. At the peak of his career, right after his 1st win in EFC (it was a camp achievemente as well)Ian was forced to quit MMA. After a spine injury, the doctor told him he could never fight again. So at 31 yrs of age, Ian retires, 8 yrs after his debut. Ian gets a 49-32 rec, 4 Pankrash and 4 Ring Rage MW titles and the record of ACADEMYs BEST FIGHTER OF ALL TIMES (rank #160), overcoming mythical Sammy Hughes. He also made the 1st TO GET TO EFC Achievement. THANK YOU IAN!!
In his 1st appearance in STRIKEFORCE, Ian won 4 out of 6 fights... the result?
HES THE FIRST FIGHTER OF TRIGO TOP TEAM TO REACH EFC!!!!!
GREAT!!! We waited almost 3 months for this to happen!!!
HOooahhh!!!
Ian gets himself a place in the Academys ACHIEVEMENT BOARD!!
After Ian Robinson and Mike Collins got offered a contract with STRIKEFEST, Guy Roger becomes the first fighter flying off to Japan to sign in for GLORY.
Good Luck.
ACADEMY RECORDS - MORE FIGHTS: 98, by Roger Phillips MORE TITLES: 10, by Tyler Jodoin MORE TITLES IN 1 ORG: 10 WCA, by Tyler Jodoin MORE WINS: 56, by Roger Phillips BEST FIGHTER(rank): #188, by Sammy Hughes
At the age of 30, Tyler Jodoin retired. He made his MMA debut in Dec.2139, ending it 7yrs and 5mths later. Were talking about a fighter who had a 11-1 record at one point!! At the end, Tyler collected a 42 wins, 11 of them with belts!!! He was a WC LHW Champion and a 10 time WCA LHW Champion!!! It terms of records, he detrones Roger Phillips in 2 of them: MORE TITLES with 11 (Roger had 5) ; MORE TITLE IN ONE ORG with 10 (Roger had 4). Hes the 3rd best fighter ever of the Academy with a #243 ran
ACADEMY RECORDS - MORE FIGHTS: 98, by Roger Phillips MORE TITLES: 5, by Roger Phillips MORE TITLES IN 1 ORG: 5 LotC, by Roger Phillips MORE WINS: 56, by Roger Phillips BEST FIGHTER(rank): #188, by Sammy Hughes
With so many surprises, Mike Collins is the one and only Underdog!!!! Hes already the best ranked fighter ever of the Academy, but only now hes getting a bunch of charisma that trully gets him side to side with the mythical Sammy Hughes!!!!
Wooowww!!!! WWWoOOOWWW!! Mike Collins just owned Luke Baker!!!! Although he was the title holder, he truly was the Underdog for this fight! Luke Baker is nothing more nothing less than #64, with an impressive 47-17 record, with a shitload of titles!!! Collins ended Baker at 1:37 of Rd 1 with a beutiful Guillotine choke. This is definitely one of the Academys Greatest (and unexpected wins). And wheres Collins in all this?? In STRIKEFEST!!! This fight just got himself a contract there.
Ian Robinson is the 1st fighter to reach STRIKEFEST!!!!! Ian had a somewhat unsucessfull period with A-1, though it caught attention. He got offered a contract for STRIKEFEST!!!! Beautiful day at the Academy. We have our first fighter in STRIFEST!!! Altough Ian is not a huge fighter, he has been on our top 3 fighters for a while. Good Luck!!!

wundeful has a way with getting under your skin... i'm willing 2 bet money that he probably has a wonderful family that hates him dearly.... so rest easy.....besides you have me and matty... we are like the 3 amigos but only nerdier and i'm fat and matty stinks....
... Sure , I'll give you the Title Shot against Eugene Lange ... Although I doubt there is little chance of me winning it ... I will expect you to accept the next Title Challenge that comes down the pipe from Solitude in return though ...
Sammy "The Menace Hughes" retired at the age of 37. With a record of 36-24, winning the 4 best titles of the Academy (3 time WCA LW Champion and UFL LW Champion), Sammy was the co-founder and co-owner of Trigo Top Team, and he is the best fighter ever, having reached the #188.
there are two other guys in top ten with a longer streak then your guy, I sent both those guys challenges and if they don't accept close to the time of the reset I will accept your challenge. Hope that answers your question
