Round 1 After dodging a jab-cross, Guzman lands a kick to the liver of Brody who steps back and begins to take a knee. Guzman rushes forward to capitalize but Brody stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Pilaran Guzman sends Brody Jones to the mat with a well timed jab, falling into his guard. Pilaran Guzman drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Pilaran defends a triangle attempt, throwing Brodys straight leg over his head and makes a move for side control. Jones is able to hold him to half guard. Pilaran tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Pilaran Guzman slips out of half guard and into side control. Brody gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. Jones starts to wiggle out of back control, Pilaran lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Jones weaves through a jab-cross combo but is met with a strong knee. Round 1 comes to a close.
Round 2 Brody Jones attempts to clinch, but Pilaran Guzman connects with an uppercut to the jaw. Jones is cut open under the eye by a standing elbow strike. Jones attempts a striking combination, but Pilaran Guzman forces the clinch. Guzman breaks away from the clinch while delivering a knee. Brody Jones throws a kick to the midsection that is caught by Pilaran Guzman. Pilaran Guzman lands a sweeping leg kick that puts Brody Jones on his back. Pilaran kicks at the thighs of Brody. The bell signals the end of round 2.
Round 3 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Brody Jones gets double underhooks, and unleashes unanswered knees to the midsection. Guzman grabs the plum and pulls Brodys face towards a powerful knee which is blocked. Guzman lets go of the hold and lands a hook. Brody Jones lands a strong outside leg kick that is returned by Pilaran. Brody Jones eats a stiff kick to the face. Brody lands a strong outside leg kick but is hit with a heavy counter hook. Brody Jones is hit with a jab then hook to the body and stumbles backward. Pilaran Guzman explodes forward with a push kick that puts Brody Jones on the canvas. Guzman lays into Brody Jones with some stomps. Brody Jones can't handle it as the ref stops the fight.
