Round 1
McDonald throws a push kick. MacKenna shucks it and strikes with a overhand that crashes into Josephs nose. Joseph lands a double jab. Joseph ducks under a loopy hoop, taking Charlie to the mat, and his back. Joseph McDonald lays into MacKenna with some strong shots forcing MacKenna to give up mount position. McDonald maintains mount but laying some well timed strikes. McDonald punishes MacKenna with a series of strikes from the mount. The round comes to an end.

Round 2
Joseph catches a leg kick and fires a hard punch to the head dropping Charlie MacKenna. McDonald stands over MacKenna, works his way through his open guard and lands some solid standing punches. MacKenna is able to grab an arm and pull McDonald into his guard. McDonald tries to pass guard but Charlie MacKenna stops him with a well timed punch. MacKenna attempts to create some space from his guard, but Joseph sees the opening and passes to full mount. Charlie shifts his head and hips to keep Joseph McDonald off balance and unable to land strikes. Charlie gives his back up trying to escape the mount. McDonald lands a series of heavy punches forcing Charlie to roll to his back, giving McDonald mount. Charlie bucks off Joseph and both fighters get to their feet. The bell signals the end of round 2.

Round 3
McDonald hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Joseph McDonald hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Joseph McDonald takes the back of MacKenna who works for a kimura. Joseph McDonald pulls his arm out of the hold and push MacKenna away. Joseph fakes a shot and lunges forward pressing Charlie MacKenna to the cage. Charlie MacKenna swims for underhooks but is taken down in the process. Joseph McDonald takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Charlie MacKennas guard. It doesn't pay off as Charlie MacKenna makes his way to standing. Joseph McDonald narrowly dodges a cross from Charlie MacKenna, but falls catching him in his guard. Joseph McDonald powers out sweeping Charlie MacKenna with pure strength. Joseph McDonald is now in side control. Joseph attempts to mount, but gets a few punches from Charlie for his troubles. Charlie sneaks a leg back under the body of Joseph McDonald to achieve a defensive half guard. Round 3 comes to a close.
