Round 2 After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. An attempt at a clinch takedown from Chus is defended well by "Thunder". Chus grabs an overhook, steps to the side and lands an incredibly hard cross with his free hand that knocks "Thunder" the floor. "minotaur" kicks at the legs of Edwin and then asks him to stand up. The referee tells Edwin to stand. Thompson circles "minotaur", landing jabs and crosses at will. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Thompson works to "minotaurs" back while standing. Thompson throws a couple of outside shots until Chus Huerta is able to work his way back to the clinch. "Thunder" swims to double underhooks and turns Chus Huerta but Chus Huerta gets double underhooks of his own and rotates "Thunder" right back into the cage. A strong elbow forces Edwin Thompson to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 "minotaur" hits a hard jab but misses with the follow up straight. Thompson eats a strong cross as "minotaur" moves into the clinch. Chus receives a couple of stiff short hooks in the clinch. "minotaur" works the clinch to his advantage, carefully connecting with precise strikes. Chus Huerta utilizes his dirty boxing, landing short but powerful hooks to the ribs and uppercuts to the chin of Edwin Thompson. Chus Huerta fakes a shot attempt from the clinch, opening "Thunder" up for a flurry of hooks. The round comes to an end.
