Round 1 Meira keeps Denny at a distance with some well timed jabs. Mitchell is staggered by a jab to the chin. Meira connects with a series of punches forcing Denny into a clinch. Denny Mitchell attempts a takedown from the clinch, but "Python" pulls a switch on him, ultimately leading to both fighters on their feet. "Python" shoots a takedown from a distance putting "The Butcher" on the ground. Mitchell attempts a switch from the guard, but a scramble takes place getting both fighters to their feet. Torben narrowly dodges a cross from "The Butcher", but falls catching him in his guard. Torben Meira sets in an omaplata, forcing "The Butcher" to roll through, giving Torben Meira side control. Mitchell takes a few knees to the body while under Torbens side control. Torben Meira lands a few stiff elbows from side control. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 2 Denny Mitchell connects with a series of punches forcing Torben Meira into a clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Meira drops to a knee and attempts a takedown from the clinch. Mitchell sets a guillotine choke but Meira slips out at the last moment. Meira is now caught in guard. "Python" tries to pass guard but Denny Mitchell stops him with a well timed punch. Torben Meira drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Meira attempts to set in a hammer lock from being caught in the guard. Denny Mitchell slips out of it at the last moment. Denny Mitchell sets in an omaplata, forcing "Python" to roll through, giving Denny Mitchell side control. The round comes to an end.
Round 3 Torben Meira snaps back the head of Denny Mitchell with a stiff jab. A sloppy scooping ankle block is pulled of by "Python". "The Butcher" is able to pull him into his guard. Torben drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. Meira defends a triangle attempt, throwing Mitchells straight leg over his head and makes a move for side control. Denny Mitchell is able to hold him to half guard. Torben Meira slams his knee into "The Butchers" ribs. Denny tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. "Python" is able to slip into mount from the half guard. The bell signals the end of round 3.
