Round 1 Onishi wraps around Corey Phillipss waist, and drags him to his back, taking side control Goro Onishi slides his knee across the body of Phillips and takes full mount. Corey shifts his head and hips to keep Goro Onishi off balance and unable to land strikes. Corey gives his back up trying to escape the mount. Goro tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Onishi locks in a body triangle as he takes shots at Corey Phillips. The round comes to an end.
Round 2 Onishi snaps back the head of Phillips with a stiff jab. Corey Phillips fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Goro Onishi. Goro uses his under and overhook to hit a solid body toss takedown, landing in full guard. Onishi takes a risk going for a leglock from being caught in Phillipss guard. It doesn't pay off as Corey makes his way to standing. Goro Onishi narrowly dodges a cross from Corey Phillips, but falls catching him in his guard. Goro goes for a kimura from the bottom, but Phillips slips out at the last second. "Newcomer" tries to pass guard but Onishi stops him with a well timed punch. Corey Phillips passes through Goro Onishis guard into mount. Round 2 is finished.
Round 3 Goro Onishi throws a cross that easily dodged by Corey Phillips. Corey Phillips narrowly dodges a cross from Goro, but falls catching him in his guard. Corey dodges some ground strikes from Onishi, and sends a few back of his own. Goro attempts to drop bombs while caught in the guard, but Corey takes the chance to switch Goro over to mount him. Onishi attempts to escape mount but has no luck. Phillips is pulled in tight, and then switched over on his back. Goro Onishi is now caught in Corey Phillipss guard.Round 3 comes to a close.
