Round 1
Shimaoka throws a cross that easily dodged by Vasilyev. Vasilyev ducks and weaves through a quick combo from Kunio Shimaoka and knocks him back with a shovel punch to the jaw. Kunio Shimaoka gets hit with a strong punch, putting him to the mat, but he recovers just in time to give up his back. "The Impaler" tries to set in a rear naked choke, but can't quite finish it. Shimaoka starts to wiggle out of back control, Igoryok Vasilyev lets him escape putting them both on their feet. Kunio Shimaoka throws a cross that easily dodged by "The Impaler". Vasilyev attempts a takedown but slips, and Kunio backs away. Kunio is standing over Vasilyev. Round 1 comes to a close.

Round 2
Shimaoka stuffs a takedown but is backed into a corner and must slide into guard to avoid being picked up. Kunio works for a triangle but "The Impaler" throws Kunios straight leg over his head and makes it to half guard. Vasilyev tries to pull his leg out of half guard, but no luck. Vasilyev slips out of half guard and into side control. Vasilyev drops some hammer fists on Kunio Shimaoka. Kunio gives his back up in an attempt to get out of side control. The round comes to an end.

Round 3
Igoryok fakes a takedown attempt and clinches with Kunio Shimaoka. Kunio throws a solid knee to the jaw of "The Impaler". "The Impaler" dodges an uppercut to the chin, though loses his balance and falls to the ground, with Kunio standing over him. Shimaoka attempts to drop a fist on Igoryok, but misses and lands in his guard. Shimaoka tries to pass guard but Igoryok stops him with a well timed punch. Shimaoka drops some good punches while being caught in the guard. "The Impaler" dodges some ground strikes from Kunio Shimaoka, and sends a few back of his own. Vasilyev shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. The bell signals the end of round 3.
