Higashikuni shifts his hips to get better position in the guard. Royler Meirelles passes through Keijis guard into mount. Royler telegraphs his motions for an armbar, but "East Apocalyptian" gives up his back to stop the attempt. Meirelles peppers Higashikuni with several shots to the face. Higashikuni is able to make it back to the standing position. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Meirelles lands a powerful uppercut in the clinch. Royler Meirelles fakes a shot attempt from the clinch, opening Keiji Higashikuni up for a flurry of hooks.
